Biscuit Love Nashville, TN: A Restaurant Review

Biscuit Love Nashville, TN: A Restaurant Review

Whenever we arrive in a city we always ask a local where to eat. It has led us to grungy cafes with the best coffee ever and it has also taken us to staple restaurants that the locals are proud of. One of these staple restaurants in Nashville is Biscuit Love. The South is know for biscuits and chicken so we knew we had to check this place out. Also, if you are heading to Seattle check out another famous biscuit place, Biscuit Bitch!

Expect a Wait

When we arrived at The Gulch which is the shopping center home to Biscuit Love and the wings wall mural, we notice a line of people around the corner. Yep, they were all waiting in line to get into Biscuit Love. So, we joined them in line. We should have brought an umbrella since it wasn’t long before it started to drizzle. Even though we started around the corner, the line moved surprisingly fast. I’d say we waiting about 15-20 minutes before making it to the front of the line. However, we have heard that the line can sometimes take up to an hour if you go at peak times.

Once you are in line they will bring you menus. You must order before you are seated so take the time to figure out what you want! They do not accept reservations so if you are going with a larger group they cannot guarantee you will be sat together. There are two large community tables which they will try to have ready for you once you reach the front of the line.

The Atmosphere

Once we made it inside the building the lines walk you around their gift items to purchase. They had the cutest hats, t-shirts, and knick-knacks to buy! I was seriously considering making a purchase but decided to wait. The decor is dedicated to each location. The Gulch location that we went to was all about Nashville. There was bright lights spelling out Nashville on the wall.

The decor was modern but rustic. It has a farm house feel with lots of wood and white walls. I thought it was super cute and trendy and it made me feel at home! The staff was wonderful and I loved their uniforms with Biscuit Love shirts on.

The Food

It was just Tyrell and I that dined at this restaurant. I had the Egg Plate which came with two eggs, grits, bacon, and a biscuit! Everything was cooked perfectly. I have never really eaten grits but they were delicious! And let’s talk about my biscuit… It was heavenly! Seriously the best biscuit I have ever had. It was fluffy and moist and the homemade apricot jam they served with it was delectable!

Tyrell ordered the East Nasty. This is a buttermilk biscuit with a fried chicken thigh, cheese, and gravy. He loved the gravy and chicken but, unlike me, he was not a huge fan of his biscuit. The buttermilk biscuit was a little too dry for his liking and he said he would have needed much more gravy to make up for that fact. That being said, he wants to go back and try something more like I had because he was jealous of my biscuit!

Was it worth it?

I definitely think that if you are visiting Nashville this is a staple that you have to check out. It highlights the Nashville culture and provides delicious food of the South. However, if I lived there it probably isn’t a place I would go every Saturday for brunch. The lines do get very long and it is difficult to go to with large groups of people.

Overall, I would recommend this place if it is your first time visiting to experience what everyone is talking about!

  1. This place would probably be a miss for me. I totally judge breakfast places on their biscuits. So if the biscuit wasn’t great i’d be disappointed. But the food looked amazing! Especially what your husband got
