Valentine’s Day is all about being with your loved one. Sometimes going out into the crowded craziness of a restaurant can take away the magic. So instead, curl up on the couch with a good movie, nice steak, and this DELICIOUS gorgonzola sauce!
We love all cheese, but gorgonzola is definitely a favorite. We love it on fries, mashed potatoes, pasta, and of course steak! And honestly this sauce can be put on any of them! However, we think this specific sauce tastes the best on steak, so give that a try first!
Gorgonzola Cream Sauce
Ingredients
4Tbs Irish butter
5Tbs all-purpose flour
3 cups whole milk
1/2 cup crumbled Gorgonzola cheese
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
- Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat. make sure to melt the butter completely but do not let it heat up to a boil.
- Slowly stir in flour making sure not to let it clump up too much. (some clumps will form but should break up easily once milk is added)
- Stir in milk and let cook until mixture begins to thicken.
- Stir in 1/3 cup Gorgonzola cheese. Cook until cheese is melted and sauce is desired thickness (Add more cheese if necessary for flavor and thickness).
- Season with salt and pepper to taste
- Pour over steak and sprinkle remaining cheese on top
We enjoyed every bite of this amazing steak and sauce! I cannot recommend it enough for my other cheese lovers. BONUS: This sauce pairs AMAZING with a nice Prosecco! If you think of it soon enough order your wine from WineFetch and get great deals! I found a bottle of Prosecco for $3.99 plus shipping and it was delicious!
