When you first find out you are pregnant you are so excited and cant wait to tell everyone! Then you have to go through the wait until you are out of the “danger zone.” Luckily for me this second pregnancy I found out I was expecting at 8 weeks!!! That cut a whole month off of my waiting time. Still I had a hard time keeping it quiet. But I knew I wanted to do a cute Pregnancy announcement photo starring my toddler and a unique gender reveal since we just found out at the doctor with our first born.
For my pregnancy announcement I found on Etsy a cute downloadable chalkboard sign that said “My role as an only child is coming to an end, because my mommy is due with my new best friend! July 2019.” The download was only $4.99 and was instantly sent to my inbox from RadPrintables in multiple sizes. This is not a sponsored post, but check out their shop! They have some of the cutest announcement ideas. I printed it out at Costco, my favorite for quality photos, and a cheap frame from target. To keep the matte appearance of the faux chalk board take the glass out of the frame, it will prevent a glare.
For my gender reveal I wanted to be surprised. I love the cake idea but wanted something unique. I was loving the balloon popping idea. My husband was the one who came up with the bow and arrow idea. Our ultrasound was scheduled for the 13th of February, and what better day to do a bow and arrow gender reveal then on Valentine’s Day. I ordered the balloon from Amazon and my brother-in-law filled it up! To see the balloon we used click on the picture below! Our ultrasound tech was awesome about keeping the surprise for us. Anytime she wouldn’t know our baby’s position, or going near anywhere we might catch a glimpse of the gender she told us to look away. Check out our gender reveal video on Instagram right here!
To announce the gender after our reveal we took a picture of our first born holding a little brother onesie. Last time after we found out the gender we went shopping to purchase the coming home outfit, and this time was no different! We found some of the cutest onesies I couldn’t help but buy more then one!
