Whether you are traveling for just a weekend or for a little longer, it can really pay to plan your time well. Otherwise, you can end up missing some of the sites and attractions that are the most fun. Luckily, if you are planning a trip to the gorgeous city of Miami anytime soon, you can get some guidance on all the best places to visit, in my post below.
Enjoy the coastline
One pick that you will regret if you miss it is enjoying the beautiful coastline that Miami is located on. In fact, this is one of the most significant attractions of the city, what the with gorgeous blue ocean, fine white sand and fun beach life available.
Of course, most people head on down to South Beach, if swimming or sunbathing is something that they want to do, but there are other ways of appreciating the coastline too. One is to try renting a boat in Miami and enjoying a trip offshore. Something that can not only be relaxing but also provide you will some fantastic view of the city.
Alternatively, you may wish to visit Bayside Marketplace which is a two-story shopping center set right on the water. Of course, there you will not only find some great places for some retail therapy, but also some cafes and bars on the water where you can sit and enjoy the coastline while relaxing with a drink or snack.
Soak in the architecture
Next, most folks know that Miami is famous for a particular architectural style. That is the pastel-colored buildings in a retro art deco vibe. Of course, when visiting this area, you will want a chance to take in this iconic architecture, and there is no better place to do this than Ocean Drive.
Miami is well known for its gorgeous and iconic art deco buildings.
In fact, this is the main road running through South Beach and is home to not only to art deco residential properties but bars and club as well, meaning that once night falls the places erupt with energy and fun.
In particular, don’t forget to check out Clevelander with its open-air seating or visit Mango’s Tropical Cafe for a Latin dance vibe.
Sample the spicy flavors
No visit to a city is complete without making time to sample some of the cuisines on offer there, and happily, Miami certainly won’t disappoint in this category. In fact, the city plays host to several different cuisines including Spanish, Cuban, and Asian, as well as American classics like burgers and pizza too.
In particular, you won’t want to miss Zuma Miami which does a nifty line in minimalist Japanese cuisine and is well known for its skewered pork belly and crab dishes.
Then there is El Mago De Las Fritas on 8th street which is an establishment that serves some delicious Cuban style food. Their flan, in fact, famous citywide, and their prices are so low that you really cannot afford to miss this restaurant when visiting Miami!
Great picks! I need to check these out next time im in Miami!
