While we were in Seattle for word camp Seattle, we gave ourselves one free day to play! We ended up taking Noah to the Seattle Aquarium per his request! It was a Monday and not super busy and let me tell you guys, it was great! I can’t wait to go back.
First off timing is everything. Like I said we went on a Monday so the crowds weren’t huge. I can’t say how it gets on The weekends , but it being a short walk from Pike’s Place Market probably makes it a hot spot. Plan to spend about 2 to 3 hours here. All parking in the area is paid so make sure your parking will cover that time.
There were so many exhibits once we got inside. There is of course a giant glass wall aquarium when you first walk in. Most aquariums have this, I saw a similar one at the Aquarium of The Pacific in Long Beach, California.
Next was the touch pool. A personal favorite of mine at aquariums. In this same room was a walk through jelly fish display that changed colors and then the octopus! This was definitely one of Noah’s favorites. This and the seals we spent the most time at. There was also a child’s area with activities and a scuba dress up.
Outside was where you would find all the mammals. The had two different types of seals and otters. I think that my toddler could have sat out here all day! He loved watching the seals dive play and sim around. There is also a great view of the Puget Sound from out here!
Back inside there are different areas you can check out, just like at the Oregon Coast Aquarium. There is the window to Washington waters, tropical fish, Puget sound fish, and our personal favorite the underwater dome! A 360 view of sturgeon, rock fish and even sharks! This was the inside favorite for my little guy!
We love going to aquariums and zoos when we are on our family vacations! I know Brittany and Tyrell also go to aquariums when they travel just them two. We have been to the Oregon Coast aquarium, the Denver Aquarium and the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long beach. What is your favorite Aquarium you have been too?

Currently the aquarium is closed due to COVID- 19 but be sure to check out the Live Cams. Click here!
Seattle is also one of my favorite Cities! We have been there without kids for our Babymoon, and with kids, this time when we came for the Wordcamp Seattle conference. The city is fun and filled with sites to see, so many delicious restaurants and activities on every street corner. The drool worthy food below is From Biscuit Bitch, a place I will visit again and again!
Noah is really a beautiful and intelligent child and you did great by bringing him to the aquarium. He would have learned more about aquatic life here than he ever could at school or browsing the internet.
