I love a good rice. Cilantro lime, pilaf, dolmades, and obviously this garlic rice! This super easy one pan recipe is so simple and it is to die for. This recipe is the perfect side for pretty much any dish. We eat it with chicken, steak, even tacos sometimes. It is very versatile and honestly just tastes great on its own. I’ve been known to sit and eat a bowl of this for lunch before!
Ingredients
4 cloves garlic (or measure with your heart)
1/2 small white onion
4 tbs salted butter
1/2 cup white wine
1 cup (approximately) chicken broth
12 oz white rice
salt & pepper to taste
red pepper flakes (optional)
Directions
In a pan sauté chopped onion and garlic in butter on medium
Once butter has browned turn up heat and add white wine, let simmer for 2 minutes
Add salt and pepper to taste (I use 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp pepper)
Add washed rice into pan and coat rice in the butter and wine sauce, let rice begin to brown slightly
Fill pan with chicken broth so that it covers about a half an inch above the rice
Bring to boil then cover with lid and turn heat to low
Let cook covered 15 minutes
Remove lid and stir, continue cooking out any extra liquid while continuously stirring if necessary
Add pepper flakes to spice up if desired!
This is one of my go to sides and I hope you enjoy as much as we do! Let me know if you try it and what you pair it with!
