Yes we went to Disney World during the pandemic. The most common question I get is “but was it even worth it with all the Covid-19 precautions?” and my answer to anyone is YESS!! 1000x YES! I can give you ten reasons Why You Should Still go to Disney World in 2021.
Reason one: The precautions keep you safe
Pandemic travel is different than normal travel. Make sure you have a mask that fits comfortably and a back up just incase. BTW Disney’s current mask rule is for ages 3 and up. Your masks stays on at all times besides some water rides and while eating. The precautions weren’t hard to follow and we know they won’t last forever!
Reason two: Travel is still cheap!
We got an AMAZING price on our flights. Also Airbnbs are pretty cheap as well for the time being. As always research your dates way ahead of time and watch your flight because prices will always fluctuate. With current prices we were able to find young trip flights out of our local small airport to Orlando for only $230!
Reason three: Less people in the parks
When we went parks at Walt Disney World was at 30% capacity. This means shorter lines!!!!! I think the longest we waited was 30 minutes and it was for Hollywood Tower of Terror and Space mountain. Since the parks are at decreased capacity they currently are not doing Fastpasses, but for those of you traveling with kids they are still doing Rider Swap.
Reason 4: 2021 is the 50th year celebration at Walt Disney World
I was so upset that we missed this because I was at Disneyland the year of their 50th year celebration, I even went twice that year! However the Disney World Resort will be having their 50th year celebration starting beginning October 1st and lasting 18 months.
Reason 5: Support Disney as a Company
In no means is Disney going to go out of business because of the pandemic, but let’s support the parks we love! Disneyland and California Adventure are reopening in April if your on the West coast and for the East coast Disney World is open and has been! Planning your Disney trip is slightly different. You have to pretty your tickets online and reserve what parks you will be going to on what days. Tickets sell out quick so plan in advance.
Reason 6: Characters are still around the park
No parades or Character meets but they do have small floats going around the park at different times with different characters. We still saw Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Tinkerbell and the princesses!
Reason 7: THE FOOD.
My number one reason to go anytime, but the food is still there guys. And I am not kidding when I say I saw some cleaning a tables 5 seconds after the last party was eating their. All the ordering is done on your phone via the app so the payment is contactless. From giant donuts and Ronto wraps in Hollywood studios Land to Mickey shaped ice-cream and dole whip in Magical Kingdom, we definitely ate our way through Disney. I also had the best margarita of my life in Hollywood studios at PizzeRizzio. From home enjoy Disney food with delicious copycat recipes like this Copycat Disneyland Beignets.
Reason 8: Disney Park exclusive merch for the year
The 2021 Spirit jersey was too cute! My friend got it , and I got my first Loungefly backpack! I picked a park exclusive one with all my favorite Pixar Characters. I also have a have been collection Disney Pin since I was little, and on this trip bought a 2021 Jack Skellington pin to add to my collection.
Reason 9: If you’re a Disney fan do you even need a reason?!?
When Brittany moved less than two hours from Disney World, I knew this was the moment to make all my childhood dreams come true! Also we have been saving our Disney Redemption Dollars from our Chase Credit card since the last time we went to Disney and had finally saved up enough to buy our Park Tickets. We always said we would go back when we had saved enough. But It is ALWAYS a good time for a Disney Trip.
Reason 10: Even the pandemic cant stop you from making memories
We had the best of time, and I really cant imagine it being any better had the pandemic not been going on. Our photos might all be in masks but the memories will last forever.
